International Women’s Day March for Solidarity and Dignity of Women was held in Banja Luka on Women’s Day, and the participants were louder than usual, united in solidarity, demanding:
- More effective measures to prevent violence against women! Institutions must take responsibility and ensure the protection of women through improving the laws, allocating funds and sanctioning perpetrators. Returning the Law on Protection against Domestic Violence and Violence against Women of the Republic of Srpska to the procedure.
- Protection of reproductive rights! The right to free access to healthcare, contraception and abortion, without stigmatization and pressure.
- Decent work and social security! Equal pay for equal work, prohibition of discrimination in employment and protection from violence in the workplace!
- Political equality! More women in decision-making positions and the elimination of political violence against women.
A large number of banners were written with clear messages for women’s rights, and support was also provided by the musical performance “Baba Djex Tribe”.
