Comments on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska

The Human Rights House Banja Luka, in accordance with the invitation of the Ministry of Justice in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, submitted remarks and comments on the entire text of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska, within the stipulated time.

Remarks and comments were submitted because proposed changes reduce the legal protection of minority, marginalized and vulnerable groups.

The Human Rights House calls on the Government of the Republic of Srpska to completely withdraw the controversial Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska!

The proposed amendments, which remove the words “gender identity” from the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska, undermine the significant progress that has been made in preserving and improving individual human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Srpska.
