The Human Rights House Banja Luka organized another Open Door Day, and this time, on February 28, the Centre for Environment opened its doors and their experts held a lecture/discussion on the topic “Urban Mobility – What, to Whom, How?”.
We heard answers to the questions of how to move through the city, especially on a bicycle as a means of transportation, and what does this have to do with the quality of our lives, who should take care of urban mobility and how we can improve it.
According to available information, for example, there are only 34 kilometers of bicycle paths in Banja Luka, and only 10 percent of citizens use public transportation.
They discussed potential solutions and how to have the most acceptable mobility.
The Centre for Environment, which recently celebrated its 25th birthday, really has a lot of activities and organizes several events.
Thus, Banja Luka Critical Mass (BCM) is a monthly event that brings together bicycle enthusiasts and users with the aim of enjoying a shared ride. In addition to the monthly rides, members of Banja Luka Critical Mass work to inform and educate all traffic participants in order to increase traffic safety, popularize bicycles as a means of transportation, and advocate for the improvement of cycling infrastructure.
The organization Hi Neighbour supported this event – Open Door Day, and we would like to thank everyone who was part of the conversation about more sustainable, healthier and more efficient urban mobility.
